This chapter gives us some significant details about the first Anthropological societies in Europe, the racist attitudes of scientists and academicians in the years discussed, and how the realities of colonialism, European exploration, and zealous missionary activity under both the Roman Catholic Church and Church of England. Be able to discuss when we return Monday. You should have at least 3 to 5 questions from reading this ready to present to the class for discussion.
