Explain how organizational structure influences the role of management in a declared functional area.

You have been authorized to hire the new employees in order to carry out the organizational goals you have identified for the two functional areas you are examining in the Atha Corporation case study. For this assessment,
You can use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, or PowerPoint to create your revised organizational charts. The organizational charts are given in Word format so that you can make your revisions within the same document, if you choose. Note: For accessible versions of the organizational charts, refer instead to the PDF versions in the Resources.
Follow these steps to complete this assessment:
Review your managerial directives and parameters in the Executive Department Management Instructions (linked in the Resources).
Conduct independent research to familiarize yourself with the process of developing organizational charts. You may find the materials listed in the Suggested Resources helpful, or you may refer to other resources.
Download the organizational chart for the human resources area (linked in the Resources under the Required Resource heading).
Examine the organizational chart to determine where the new staff resources are to be assigned.
Revise the organizational chart to reflect the allocation of staff resources to be added including relevant positions from a full range of job categories.
At the bottom of the revised organizational chart, write a brief justification for your decisions. As part of that, describe the need for the revision, comparing elements from the old and new versions.
Download the organizational chart for the additional functional area you selected (linked in the Resources under the Required Resource heading).
Write a 1–2 page summary analysis of the revised organizational charts you just completed. To provide the executives with the best possible understanding of your work, your summary should address the following points:
Explain how the revised organizational structure (including the new chain of command) influences the role of management in each functional area and identify potential challenges for the relevant managers that result from the structural change.
Explain how the revised organizational structure (including the new chain of command) influences the role of management in the additional functional area you selected, and identify potential challenges for the relevant managers that result from the structural change.
Indicate the research you used to support your work in arriving at the goals and activities.
Describe the current or past experience (if any) you used as the basis for this activity.
Based on an executive audience, your summary should be well organized and written in clear, succinct language. Follow APA rules for attributing sources that support your analysis and conclusions.
Academic Integrity and APA Formatting
As a reminder related to using APA rules to ensure academic honesty:
1. When using a direct quote (using exact or nearly exact wording), you must enclose the quoted wording in quotation marks, immediately followed by an in-text citation. The source must then be listed in your references page.
2. When paraphrasing (using your own words to describe a non-original idea), the paraphrased idea must be immediately followed by an in-text citation and the source must be listed in your references page.
Submit all three of the following as attachments to this assessment:
Your revised organizational chart for the human resources area.
Your revised organizational chart for the additional functional area you chose.
Your summary analysis.
