Research Paper IT ACQUISITION
please focus this research paper on IT ACQUISITION. IT IS NOT ON COMPANY ACQUISITION OR MERGER. But should be focused on acquiring services from IT CONTRACTOR. I Started the paper since it is based on another project for the class, I juist need you to do the research part and write about what is an IT ACQUISITION, when is it needed, the risk involved and the benefits.
this is what I wrote so far.

We were asked to select a business performance problem that will require the acquisition of Information Technology services from an external Information Technology services contractor. Information technology acquisition is often necessary when the problem at hand is related to information technology and it cannot be resolved through change in management and or policies. For this assignment I chose to focus on a current problem being faced within my organization.
The problem at hand is listed below:
When a customer file a grievance, the systems currently used to store and resolved the complaint is neither efficient nor effective. The system does not have any features to automatically notify or keep track of priority grievances and important deadlines. Also, there are currently two systems being used to log grievances, which can create confusion and slow down progress for more than 3 different departments. Call Tracker System (CTS) and the Grievance Tracking System (GTS). Depending on who is taking the call will determine which system is being used and sometimes if a customer calls more than once, two different files may end up being created in both systems for the same complaint. Once a grievance is created, the proper steps have to be followed in order to close it out or the company will be charge a fined or even worst can be sanctioned. Although I there are some poor management and policies involved in this problem, the first step to coming to a resolution will be to first obtain an effective system then follow by better management and policies.
I chose to focus on this problem because it is a common issue among my coworkers, and endless hours have been spent mitigating resolutions. Some argue that the issue can be fixed through better policies and procedures, while other state it is a management issue, but I believe the problem require a an Information Technologist expertise. “

Explain why. Does your analysis allow you to draw general conclusions on the type of risk that would be likely to be overlooked or mis-analyzed in future projects you might work on?
