2.There are several consent in the health care field: expressed consent, implied consent, third-party consent, and informed consent.

An expressed consent is when the health care professional explains the procedure to the patient, they understand it, and agrees to the procedure being performed. Implied consent is when the patient can not communicate their consent but to a life saving interventions are required to treat the patient. Third party consent is when a patient is mentally incapable of understanding a procedure that is being and/or the ramfications of consent of refusal, so consent is given from a legal designate, a parent, or guardian in a case of a child, or a power of attorney who will be delegated by a person who may be suffering from a degenerative neural disease. Informed consent is getting the persmission from the patient before conducting the health care intervention on a person or disclosing their personal information.

My personal experience of a third-party consent was when my ex-husband was admitted into the hospital with his blood sugar to be 1392. He was in a diabetic coma and could not make decisions for himself. I had to set in a make decisions for me in regards to his care.

3.In health care there are many different types of consent. One type of consent is parental consent, when a patient is under the age of 18 a parent or a legal guardian must sign stating it is ok for the minor to receive treatment. This type of consent has to be done in writing. for example if your child is sick and had to be taken to the emergency room, the parent will have to sign a consent form giving the doctors permission to treat the minor. Another type of consent is third party consent, which is used when a patient is mentally challenged and is unable to fully understand what is going on. Someone like a parent or legal guardian would usually sign the consent for something like. Another type of consent is explicit consent which is also known as express consent which means the patient is present in his or her right mind and is able to fully understand what is going on and is able to say yes or no to the types of treatments being offered. An example of explicit consent is when you may go the doctor with a love one for support but the love one is aware of everything that is going on and fully understands what she is agreeing to and signing. Working as a patient access coordinator in the busiest emergency rooms in my city I am very familiar with many of the different consents that patients have to sign. I am also responsible for making sure they truly understand what they are signing, so sometimes I have to read the consent forms to some of the patients to determine if they truly understand.
