Instructions
While summarizing their learning experiences in this course, students should not merely provide unanswered questions or specific facts that they have learned. Students should demonstrate a transition in their understanding of the core concepts of Homeland Security from a philosophical level rather than a tactical and operational level. Students should demonstrate an understanding of the interconnectedness of national security and homeland security as well as an understanding of the broader issues affecting the nation that impact HS (e.g. economic issues, social issues, political viewpoints, religious beliefs). Students should understand how the nation’s foundational documents (U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights); legislation; federal, state, and local laws; and culture form a framework in which the contemporary HS construct has emerged.
